Here's something different: a heavy snowfall in mid-April. We've been having a cool spring, but this is ridiculous!

Shot was taken at 2am -- that's the nearly-full moon trying to shine through the clouds.

April snowstorm!

Went north up to the Skagit Tulip Festival hoping to take photos of colorful tulips. But the weather had been cool and damp and the tulips were still sleeping. Even the fields of daffodils were still mostly green; but some of the Roozengaarde Gardens flowers were awake, if a bit watermarked. Still, no sun.

I'll go back up there when the tulips are up and cloud cover isn't quite as complete.

The sun finally came out and the weather got a bit closer to normal. Perfect weather for trimming the damaged cherry tree.

But the flowers were too lovely to waste, so I picked up four large glass vases at a second-hand store for a $1 each, filled them up with cherry branches, gave a couple to friends and took two to the Everett Senior Center, where they were much appreciated!

Snow and cherry tree

It looks like March came in like a lion and is going out like a lamb. A snow-white lamb that's baaaaad.

We had a late-season snowfall last night, and the weight of the wet snow on the flowers of my cherry tree caused the tallest branches to break.
